Many individuals and organizations in Appalachia are working to build a prosperous and sustainable future. The challenge is to define that future and to identify the steps to get there.

To help define those steps, the Appalachian Transition Initiative and the Central Appalachia Prosperity Project have invited a number of the region’s academic, business, social and cultural leaders to write essays on what they believe must be done to accomplish the transition to a healthy and sustainable prosperity. We invite you to participate in a “peer view” by posting your ideas and comments in reaction to each of the essays that interests you.

If you would like to review and comment, simply click on the “White Papers” tab above to find the articles that have been posted so far.

The authors posted here have agreed to consider your comments as they finalize their papers for further publication and presentations at upcoming conferences. In addition, as we continue our work, CAPP and ATI will give serious consideration to all of the ideas presented by the authors and by those of you who comment.
